How to turn CSV or spreadsheet cells into a Markdown table
Paste cells from Excel or Google Sheets, or import a UTF-8 .csv, .tsv, or .txt file. Auto detects commas, tabs, or semicolons; choose a delimiter explicitly if the preview does not match your data.
Keep First row is a header checked for column names. Turn it off to keep every input row as data and add Column 1, Column 2, and so on. Set each column to default, left, center, or right alignment, then copy Markdown, copy the formatted table, or download an .md file.
Quotes, line breaks, and literal text
Wrap a cell in double quotes when it contains a delimiter or line break. Inside a quoted cell, write two double quotes for one literal quote. Pipes, backticks, Markdown syntax, and HTML are escaped in Markdown; cell line breaks become <br>. Your own HTML is always literal text. Formula-like values are never evaluated.
Limits and uneven rows
Up to 500 input rows (including the first row), 50 columns, and 200,000 characters (UTF-16 units). File imports are also limited to 800 KB. Larger inputs are rejected, never truncated. Every row must have the same number of cells; use delimiters for empty cells. Blank rows are kept and checked; a final line terminator is ignored.
Does my table leave this browser?
No. Parsing, preview, and export happen locally. Remember my work is optional and saves source, delimiter, header choice, alignment, and filename on this device. Clear saved data removes saved tool drafts.
